History of Stone Cold Steve Austin

Steven James William Anderson better known as Stone cold Steve Austin is an actor and retired professional wrestler born in Victoria, Texas on December 18, 1964.

He debuted in 1991 in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) under the name "Stunning" Steve Austin.

In 1995 he was fired by WCW President Eric Bischoff after suffering an injury. Austin contacted Paul Heyman, who introduced him to Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).

In December of the same year, Austin signed a contract with the World Wrestlig Federation (WWF), being presented as "The Ringmaster" under the tutelage of Ted DiBiase, who gave him the Million Dollar Championship.

At the WWF In your house: Beware of Dog event, Austin lost to Savio Vega, and with it the Championship, and as the rules said, Ted DiBiase left the WWF. Shortly after this match, Austin shaved his head and became known as Stone Cold Steve Austin.

He has been six times World Champion of the World Wrestling Federation. He also won the 1996 King of the Ring edition and the 1997, 1998 and 2001 Royal Rumble editions, being the wrestler who has won the Royal Rumble the most times.

He has also won the United States Championship twice, the World Television Championship twice, the World Tag Team Championship once, all of these from WCW. He also won the million dollar championship once, the intercontinental championship twice and the World Tag Team Championship four times, all of these from the WWF.

In addition, it was the main event of wrestlemania 14, 15 and 17 in 1998, 1999 and 2001 respectively.

In 2004 he retired due to a spinal injury and later began an acting career, but despite this he has had some appearances in WWE.

In 2007 he legally changed his name from Steve Williams to Steve Austin, becoming the third wrestler to change his real name to his stage name. Those who also did it were Ultimate Warrior, Ryback and Chyna.

He was finally inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009, where he was named "The Greatest Superstar in WWE History".
